As I scroll through pictures and videos from the past several decades, many of them feature various family members with horses. I think the holiday season can lead me to feel extra "sappy"; my heart is filled with happiness as I reflect on the countless hours of fun and joy we've shared with one another with horses as our focal point. Whether we are grooming, doing ground work, riding, practicing for a show, or just watching the horses cavort about the pasture, their presence in our lives helps to strengthen the bond that we have with one another.
We have certainly experienced sadness over the years, but that is not a topic for tonight. Tonight I want to look at the smiles of the people and admire the glossy coats, the lively steps, the pricked ears and bright shining eyes of the steeds. I relive the joy of the moment when I take time to look...really look at the photos which capture those special moments.
There are so many wonderful memories associated with the horses! They always bring joy and happiness, as well as serenity and a sense of purpose. Thank you so much for the reminder of all they give back to us-and thank you for providing the experience, time, and wisdom so that we could make those memories!
