Downsize (Downie) joined the herd and family about two years ago. At the time her name was Kendra, and she came from a farm about 20 miles south of Oulu. At the age of ten, she had never been ridden. My daughter, Helena slipped onto her back in the pasture while her partner David led her around, and we decided to gamble that she would become a trustworthy riding horse. She has exceeded all our expectations, prompting me to call her Princess Downie.
Trainer and instructor, Autumn Howland spent about 6 weeks doing the basic introduction to riding and handling, then Downie came home, ready to progress on the training scale, which she has proceeded to master. She has plenty of get up and go, but has a very good head on her shoulders! She is proving to be a favorite with participants in the EAL program, but also excels in the dressage ring! She has an extremely sweet and loving personality. She looks rather like a smally Clydesdale, and indeed she does have Clydesdale in her lineage. In addition, she has a dose of Dale pony, Quarter pony and Gypsy Vanner.

She is, indeed, a princess! She handles almost everything with dignity and diplomacy, and is a pleasure to handle and ride! What an extraordinary gem!
