Sustainability in the Stable -

Tip #2 - Energy Efficiency: Opt for energy-efficient lighting in barns and equestrian facilities, such as LED bulbs. Use timers or motion sensors to control lighting, ensuring they are only active when needed. In outdoor spaces, there are excellent options for solar lights. There are very effective solar lights that operate on a motion sensor. Properly insulate buildings to reduce heating and cooling requirements.

Although it may take some time for the full benefits to occur, consider planting shrubs and trees to provide shade and block the wind. Not only does this result in increased energy efficiency, trees also serve as filters for contaminants and help prevent soil erosion. And last but not least, they can dramatically increase the aesthetic appeal of any stable area or pasture.

The native species garden was such a wonderful addition to the property. Thank you for bringing that together and organizing the planting crew!
